FAQ

Is it possible to just do craft markets and still make a good living?

Yes. Definitely, but I suggest that you also focus on the online sales to give you a stronger financial footing.

If you plan to run craft markets full-time, you will need to book the best shows, have larger booth setups, and display your products with a well-stocked display, while still maintaining a professional appearance, rather than that of a church fete.

How much of a difference does my display make to my sales ?

How you display your items makes a massive difference to your sales. Firstly, you need a LOT of stock. Then you need your displays to go to at least eye level. Your gazebo (if your booth has one) should stand out from all the others. There are other things, but those first 2 make the biggest difference.

Does my craft product choice or niche make a big difference to my sales.?

Huge. I know that extensive product and niche research could potentially increase sales by as much as 100 times if you transition from a mediocre product to a popular one.

Can I mix products on my booth ?

No. If you mix products (like splitting your booth or table into two distinctly different products), you will probably reduce your sales to even less than half of what they could have been.

Now, there is nothing wrong with having a wide mix of items that are all of the same niche. For example, large wall art selling at hundreds of dollars and at the same time, small letter-sized wall art selling at $30. I even had some wall art pieces priced at $10 when I was selling on the markets.
